Traditional (Equity) Flying Clubs ›
VARS Flying Club
A small, hands-on club at Falcon Field with a Cherokee 235 at $60 an hour dry.
VARS (Valley Aircraft Restoration Society) began in 1989 as volunteers restoring helicopters for static display and became a flying club in the late 1990s. Today it flies a four-seat, IFR-equipped 1972 Piper Cherokee 235 kept in a locked hangar at Falcon Field.
The airplane flies only 70 to 90 hours a year, so availability is high.
Every member contributes something: board service, washing the plane, helping with maintenance under an A&P, or buying supplies.
Notes
500 refundable equity, 1500 non. Mexico trips ok. 15 members max. No students. Hangar FFZ. Wait list.
